I AM NOT A REGISTERED ARCHITECT. The state of Arizona requires that most commercial buildings are designed by a registered architect; there are a few exceptions azleg.state.az.us section 32-144.
In the cases where an architect is required I simply work with the client on design, floor plan, elevations, and materials. Then if needed it gets turned over to a registered architect.
Often it’s easier to deal with me on a more personal level than with a large architectural firm. With me the client gets a more hands on feel for their project, and when you're building a building for yourself who know your needs better than you?
On the two projects below; TAC Building Contractors gave me a rough sketch of what they needed in order to function the way they wanted. In the process, I took their sketch, drew it out on my computer, and then e-mailed/ faxed it back, they made revisions, fax that back to me, I made the changes, and then e-mailed/ faxed it back. The process goes on like that until their completely satisfied with the project.
For Christine McConnaughay’s building, she had a set of plans drawn in 2002, I took those plans, recreated them on my computer, and then e-mailed/ faxed it back, they made slight floor plan revisions, fax that back to me, I made the changes, and then e-mailed/ faxed it back. Again that process goes on like that until their completely satisfied.
Note: These 3D CGI models are for visual affect only; the client can still make color and material changes to their projects. So if you see these buildings in the future and there not the same colors or materials, that is the reason. |
